[ Humourless Bastards! ]

I'm so glad I don't work at Wal-Mart anymore. The staff there are so humourless and aloof. I don't know if it was because I was only temporary or what, but there was a certain attitude from the more established ones. There's this one guy, Gregory, whom I thought looked androgynous: I thought he was a lesbian. I've said hi to him, but he snubbed me, like the rest usually did. Today, I went with my mom as she went to shop, so I thought I'd look for sunglasses (found nothing good) then wandered over to the electronics section. After telling myself I won't buy anything, "Payback" on Widescreen and "One Hour Photo" also on Widescreen entice me to buy them. As he's putting them over the security bar to deactivate them, the read-out asks if I'm over 18. Jokingly, I say,"Aren't you gonna ask me if I'm over 18?", but instead he rambles on about how he knows the difference in a patronising tone as he bags and tags my purchases. Putz, I mutter, as I search for my mom. Later, in the car, I ask mom if all the "Associates" (as they're called) are always humourless, to which she says, "Gregory? I coulda told you that."

What a relief that it wasn't me being a bee up his anus.
